Department purpose and structure
A&O Research and Library is responsible for supporting fee earners and support staff in their research and resource requirements. Research work spans legal, business and financial work and evolves to match the firm’s changing strategy. The Library function manages all information assets and budgets.
The US Research team specifically respond to the needs of the US based attorneys across six offices: New York, Washington DC, Boston, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and San Francisco. They also collaborate closely with their global A&O Research & Library colleagues, based in the UK and HK, to ensure a seamless service.
Role purpose
Over the past two years A&O has developed an exceptional IP Litigation Practice across all our offices. This expert role will support their complex IP requests and provide public record and literature research and analysis. The Research Analyst (IP) must have full understanding of public and commercial IP resources and the fundamental basics of patent law, including §§ 101, 102, 103, and 112.
The individual will lead the development of the Practice support through providing training and promotion of resources to attorneys, advising on new products for purchase and mentoring colleagues to enable them to provide complementary support to the Practice.
