    Description

    This temporary reference position will join a team of professional librarians in the Research & Scholarship department, and reports to the Associate Director for Research & Scholarship (ARS). The principal duties of this position are providing reference to our faculty and students.  Under the direction of full-time reference librarians, this librarian will provide liaison support to members of the law school faculty. This position is hybrid eligible, and, depending on circumstances, may be fully remote.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Serving as a member of the Law Library’s general reference team, the candidate is expected to:

    Provide high-caliber legal reference service to Law School faculty and students.

    Support library liaison services and provide personalized library services for faculty, including complex research.

    Assist in answering reference questions via chat and/or email inquiries.   If onsite, participate in reference desk coverage rotation.

    Classification

    This is an appointment as a part-time researcher (Librarian/Liaison), with a maximum of 25 hours of work per week.

    Salary

    $35.00/Hour.

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications

    • M.L.S. J.D. (or equivalents).

    • Experience providing in-depth and complex legal research and reference support.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 1-3 years of academic law library experience.

    • Some experience with foreign, comparative and international law sources.
