Description
Troutman Pepper, an AmLaw 50 firm with over 1,100 attorneys nationwide, is seeking an experienced, collaborative Research Librarian to join our centralized Research Services Team. This position will provide ongoing research support to attorneys and staff across all firm practice groups and administrative departments. The position is full-time and offers a hybrid work option, with preference given to candidates in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Richmond or San Francisco.
Remote work is an option for the right candidate, but requires the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment during standard business hours, anywhere from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond to legal research requests using a suite of online legal research tools.

Provide litigation monitoring and electronic current awareness services.

Responsible for completing research assignments through to completion.

Collaborate effectively with peers on assignments and projects.

Track and record billing research time and costs, following firm procedures.

Promote team atmosphere and positive image for Library & Research Services department.

Develop subject matter expertise in assigned practice areas; review, evaluate and contribute content for internal practice group pages in assigned areas; conduct orientation sessions for new attorney hires in assigned areas.

Monitor, assign and complete requests using Quest, our research request tracking system.

Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external clients effectively and professionally.

Willingness and ability to accept changing assignments and priorities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Expertise with major legal research services, including Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, VitalLaw, Lex Machina, CourtLink, Docket Alarm, Courthouse News, etc.

Working knowledge of Quest, our research request tracking system.

Familiarity with cite-checking and Bluebooking procedures.

Ability to summarize and concisely deliver complex research results.

Solid organizational, analytical and communication skills, with ability to multitask and re-prioritize as necessary to meet competing deadlines.

Strong presentation skills, with ability to lead training and onboarding sessions and instruct end users in the use of online resources
Education and/or Experience:
-
Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited school.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm environment.

Substantive knowledge of the law and legal bibliography
