    Colleagues,

The Roger Williams University School of Law Library seeks an Assistant Law Librarian, Collection Services to join a fantastic team of librarians and staff in a dynamic law school with the mission "to prepare students for success in the public and private sectors and to promote social justice and the rule of law through engaged teaching, learning, and scholarship."

As the only law school in Rhode Island, Roger Williams University School of Law has developed an excellent and mutually sustaining relationship with the bench and bar. The Law Library, through its participation in the Consortium of Rhode Island Academic and Research Libraries and the NELLCO Law Library Consortium follows that tradition of cooperation, which includes a shared library catalog with the Rhode Island State Law Library. The librarians and staff are embedded in all aspects of law school, actively engaging with faculty, students, and the administration.

If you are interested in an excellent career opportunity, I urge you to consider this applying for this position. I have found this position to be both rewarding and stimulating professionally. New England also has a vibrant and engaging local chapter, LLNE with lots of opportunities to contribute professionally. While I have a great deal of respect, admiration, and love for the excellent team of librarians and paraprofessionals here, I have found an opportunity to live near my family and work at the school where I earned my JD.

Under the direction of the Assistant Dean, the Assistant Law Librarian, Collection Services is responsible for overseeing the collection services operations of the law library: print and digital acquisitions, archives, collection development and maintenance, cataloging & metadata, digital resources management, the institutional repository, preservation, processing, and serials. As part of the management team, provides service centered vision, leadership, and planning for collection services. As part of the research and instruction team, provides legal reference, research, and instruction.

Applications are open now at https://rwu.interviewexchange.com/jobofferdetails.jsp?JOBID=146860 Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted, but preference will be given to applications received by May 31, 2022.

NOTE: This position will be available as of July 1, 2022.

    Best,

    Artie Berns
