Note to library school students living within the GPLLA geographic area: we are once again offering up to two $1000 scholarships. Updated applications have been posted on the Scholarships/Grants page. The application deadline is May 16, 2008. Award decisions will be made shortly thereafter.
For those of you already working in law libraries, note that we have revised our grant program to cover educational programs, seminars, etc. relevant to law librarianship. I’m thrilled to announce the release of phase I of the new GPLLA Web site. Welcome. I’d also like to extend a much deserved thank you to RayAna Park, Nicole Engard and Jessica Carey for making this site happen.
This initial phase is designed to communicate vital GPLLA information such as association news, upcoming events and job postings. The 2008 installment of our highly successful, 6-week legal research course is set to begin Wednesday, February 13. Recommended for paralegals, legal secretaries and professionals looking to learn more about researching and understanding law, this course teaches participants about print and electronic Pennsylvania and federal governmental legal research.
