GPLLA Fall Program

Greetings GPLLA members!

We would like to welcome you to attend our Fall Program, which will feature a narrative bibliography by John Cannan, Reference Librarian at Earle Mack School of Law’s Legal Research Center.

Topic:

A Legislative History of the Affordable Care Act

“Legislative procedure dictates what documents are available in legislative history. While the use of legislative procedures is dynamic (i.e., legislators continually develop new uses for old rules), traditional legislative history is static. As a result, legislative history researchers may be missing documents and looking for documents where they do not exist. This talk uses the health care legislation of 2009-2010 to show how legislative history is done now and how it differs from the traditional model.  It will also discuss resources law librarians need to know to understand and communicate modern legislative history.” –John Cannan

When:                  November 1,  5:30-7:30PM

Where:                 Jenkins Law Library Multi Purpose Room

833 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19107

Please RSVP to Sunita Balija at svb24@drexel.edu by Thursday, October 25.
