Library-led CLE: Creating Programs to Engage Your Users and Expand the Reach of Your Library

A big THANK YOU to the generosity of our host, Kathy Coon of Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP. The space was charming and elegant, and perfect for our spring program!

Catherine Monte, Chief Knowledge Officer at Fox Rothschild, LLP,  Misti Conway, Director of Library Services at Fox Rothschild, and Dan Giancaterino, Education Services Librarian at Jenkins Law Library, shared their experiences in planning and presenting CLE classes to their different library users. Attendees learned about what challenges they faced and how they got users excited about the programs. The presenters also gave advice for getting your own programs off the ground. There was also some discussion for offering such programs in an academic setting.

If you missed the Spring program this year, renew your membership today to stay informed about upcoming education events!

GPLLA Fall Webinar: The Drafting and Passage of UELMA

Please join us for GPLLA’s Fall Webinar

November 12, 2014

12 PM – 1 PM

Registration: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1760455917316346369

Vince DeLiberato, Director of the Pennsylvania Legislative Reference Bureau, will be speaking with us about the Uniform Electronic Legal Material Act (UELMA). UELMA seeks to preserve online official state legal materials, making them permanently available to the public in their original form. On September 24th, Pennsylvania became the 12th state to enact this model law, following on the heels of its enactment in Delaware on July 23rd.

Mr. DeLiberato worked to secure the bill’s passage in PA and also served on the national drafting committee for the Model Act. He will provide us with an insider’s look on the legislative and lobbying process behind the bill and what impact it will have on law libraries and law librarianship.

Please join us for this interesting and timely program! Please RSVP to Lori Corso (lori.corso@law.villanova.edu) to register for this program.
